F.Sc Medical Technologies

Hafeez Institute of Medical Sciences is the first Institute of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that Introduce F.Sc Medical Technologies in the province. The top position holder in the BISE Peshawar from 2007 to 2012. The duration of the course is two years and the institute is affiliated with BISE Peshawar. The course is designed that the students gain the knowledge of basic medical sciences as well as allied health sciences. Students can continue their education after completing F.Sc Medical Technology and can take admission in B.Sc Medical Technology Courses. The Course is equivalent to F.Sc Pre-Medical.

F.Sc Dental Technology (Dental Hygiene)

Dental Technology is the technical side of dentistry where a dental technician, on prescription of a dentist, makes any prosthesis or appliance for the head and neck. This could consist of:
 Artificial teeth such as complete dentures, partial dentures, crowns and bridges and implant supported dentures in various materials such as acrylics, alloys, and ceramics;
 Removable orthodontic appliances consisting of springs and retainers in acrylic bases for the movement of teeth. Mouth guards to protect against sports injuries;
 Maxillofacial appliances such as artificial eyes, ears, and facial prostheses that may be required after surgical treatment

F.Sc Ophthalmology Technology

Introduces the student to ophthalmic technology, including the role of the ophthalmic technologist, duties and responsibilities of the technologist, basic ocular examination techniques, measurement of visual acuities, basic lensometry, identification and usage of ophthalmic equipment, maintenance of ophthalmic examination lanes and special testing areas, and ethics: medical-legal aspects of ophthalmology. Introduces the human eye as an optical system by discussing physiology of image formation, optical relationships of eye structures, accommodation and effects of aging, refractive errors, astigmatism, prisms and Prentice's Rule, magnification, and basics of refractometry. Detailed exploration of the various ophthalmic pharmaceuticals, indications for their use, sites of action, side effects, proper instillation of agents, and various abbreviations used for medications.

F.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology (Pathology)

The course of study is a combination of instruction in fundamental principles of selected laboratory techniques as well as clinical experience in affiliated medical laboratories. Students learn theory and to perform clinical laboratory procedures in phlebotomy, microbiology, blood banking, clinical chemistry, hematology, immunology, and urinalysis. They also learn to operate and maintain basic clinical laboratory equipment.

F.Sc Surgical Technology (Operation Theatre)

Surgical technologists handle the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. They have an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon. They have the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and are constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Duties are as follows:
 Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure Scrubs, gowns and gloves
 Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure
 Prepares sterile dressings
 Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization
 Assists other members of team with terminal cleaning of room.

F.Sc (Hons) Radiology Technology (Imaging)

A radiologic technologist uses diagnostic imaging equipment to help physicians diagnose illnesses and injuries. He or she may use x ray equipment, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging or mammography to perform x rays, CT scans, MRIs or mammograms.
Radiologic technicians may specialize in one diagnostic imaging technology or in a few. They are often referred to by a title that reflects the technology in which they specialize. For example one who specializes in computed tomography is usually called a CT Technician and one whose speciality is magnetic resonance imaging is known as an MRI technician.

F.Sc Physiotherapy Technology

Physical therapy provides services to individuals and populations to develop maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout the lifespan. This includes providing services in circumstances where movement and function are threatened by ageing, injury, diseases, disorders, conditions or environmental factors. Functional movement is central to what it means to be healthy.
Physical therapy is concerned with identifying and maximizing quality of life and movement potential within the spheres of promotion, prevention, treatment/intervention, habilitation and rehabilitation. This encompasses physical, psychological, emotional, and social wellbeing. Physical therapy involves the interaction between the physical therapist, patients/clients, other health professionals, families, care givers and communities in a process where movement potential is assessed and goals are agreed upon, using knowledge and skills unique to physical therapists
